This year, 2020, it will be 75 years since the Second World War ended in The Netherlands. Our municipality, including Nijkerk, Nijkerkerveen and Hoevelaken, was liberated by the Canadians on April 20.
The Second World War brought a lot of suffering and caused great wounds. It is important to keep commemorating this. But we also celebrate that we were liberated 75 years ago and that we’re still free! We commemorate and celebrate together!
